Wednesday Inspiration: Hearty Smarty

While we're on the cusp of celebrating the most love-filled holiday, if you're like me you've been scouring Pinterest for hearts, and valentines, and lovey-dovey recipes to try.  About a month ago, my sister shared this video with me, and it inspired me to bring another "heart" topic to light.  Please, please, please I urge you to watch this 3 minute video.  It could end up saving your life, or the life of someone you love.

(for some reason, youtube is being annoying....to watch the video click here.)

Now, there's nothing funny about heart disease, but there is a lot of truth to this video.  How often do we, as women put everyone else's needs above our own and ignore (what could be) a very bad health issue?  According to the American Heart Association, 1 in 3 women will die from heart disease, that's more than all kinds of cancers combined.  Do you know if you or someone you love is at risk?

I hope this inspires you to maybe a little more heart-conscious.  If so, please take a few minutes and visit www.GoRedForWomen.org .  They have some really excellent tips on how to know your if you're at risk for heart disease, how to live a healthy lifestyle, and even heart-smart recipes to try.

This Valentines Day, when you're thinking about how to show how much you care for others, you can start by making sure you are keeping your own heart healthy so you will be in their life for many more years to come.
